Brad and Channin’ attended East Texas Baptist University where Brad received a degree in religion and Channin’ received a degree in elementary education. Channin’ went on to obtain her masters in educational leadership from Stephen F. Austin University.  Channin’ started cheering at a young age and has enjoyed cheering her whole life. She started coaching when she was in high school and has continued to coach tumbling, gymnastics, and competitive cheerleading for the past 14 years. During her time coaching she has coached multiple competitive cheer teams, school and pee wee cheer and a college squad. Brad and Channin’ met when they cheered together at East Texas Baptist University where they were stunt partners. Brad has been coaching for the ten years. Together Brad and Channin’ have found that they can share their love for Christ through teaching kids how to build confidence in themselves through tumbling, gymnastics and cheerleading.

Justin Harris

Martial Arts Instructor

My name is Justin Harris and I am incredibly excited to be working at Elite Fitness training the bodies and minds of the children in our community.  I believe that fitness is more than the strength of your body.  Fitness is important for the physical, emotional, and mental growth of all involved.

When I started my fitness journey, I was overweight, inactive, and lacking self-confidence.  I began training in Brazilian Jiu jitsu and kickboxing in an effort to regain my life.  I found success in competitive grappling and later progressed to fighting amateur MMA.  I have since retired from cage fighting, but still love training and teaching Jiu jitsu.  Within this unique art is the ability to gain self-control and confidence.  Jiu jitsu is the most effective art in terms of self-defense and discipline.  The entire idea of Jiu jitsu (Japanese for the friendly art) is to prevent someone from harming you while you safely incapacitate the attacker.

While Jiu jitsu is a major focus, I have also diversified my fitness POV to include long-distance running, calisthenics, and obstacle course racing. Fitness is a major part of my life and I'm excited to bring that passion to the students of Elite Fitness.

Tina Nivens

Creative / Visual Arts Instructor

Tina Nivens graduated from Baylor University with a B.S. in Fashion Design. She began her career working in the fashion industry and as a graphic designer. Her educational career began in 1998 as a K-12 visual arts teacher in Texas. There Tina built a championship Fine Arts program that served over 600 children and teens. Then Tina became visual arts department head at Prestonwood Christian Academy, where she grew the Art program to over eighteen course offerings and led the department to win four consecutive state TAPPS championships in art. Her personal artwork has evolved over the years from drawing and painting to clay and mixed media, and more recently to encaustic work. Tina is a member of the National Association of Photoshop Professionals and the Potters Council. She has been involved in SOFA summer art camps and her own summer art program, Clay Creations. Her passion is to nurture students with a drive for creativity and visual arts, and encourage them to pursue excellence in their personal work in order to impact the culture through the unique worldview found in Christ. She has also served in her local church as a pastor's wife and leader in AWANA, youth ministry, and children’s ministry. She and her husband serve at FBC Grapeland church in East Texas.

Tina is a God sent opportunity for the students in this area and we are blessed to have her with us at Elite Fitness.
