Martial Arts Instructor
My name is Justin Harris and I am incredibly excited to be working at Elite Fitness training the bodies and minds of the children in our community. I believe that fitness is more than the strength of your body. Fitness is important for the physical, emotional, and mental growth of all involved.
When I started my fitness journey, I was overweight, inactive, and lacking self-confidence. I began training in Brazilian Jiu jitsu and kickboxing in an effort to regain my life. I found success in competitive grappling and later progressed to fighting amateur MMA. I have since retired from cage fighting, but still love training and teaching Jiu jitsu. Within this unique art is the ability to gain self-control and confidence. Jiu jitsu is the most effective art in terms of self-defense and discipline. The entire idea of Jiu jitsu (Japanese for the friendly art) is to prevent someone from harming you while you safely incapacitate the attacker.
While Jiu jitsu is a major focus, I have also diversified my fitness POV to include long-distance running, calisthenics, and obstacle course racing. Fitness is a major part of my life and I'm excited to bring that passion to the students of Elite Fitness.
